Everything is Connected

January’s motivational shirt is a reminder that everything we do in the world, throughout each day, is connected to everything else. Doing good creates more good.

The back reads: everything is connected and features each of the causes we have supported since March 2010:

  • Piedmont Park Conservancy
  • Open Hand
  • Camp Twin Lakes
  • Everybody Wins
  • Adopt a Golden Atlanta
  • PATH Foundation
  • Kate’s Club
  • Get Grounded Foundation

To date, we’ve been able to donate $46,000 to these wonderful organizations — thanks to you and your hard work!

Please post your results and improvements from today’s PT test — we want to hear your success stories!

See you next month — well, really later this month — on Tuesday, January 31st.

Spotlight on Our Partner: AGA

As you all know by now, Adopt a Golden Atlanta is our cause for the first quarter of 2011. This is our last month working with AGA and we want to remind you to check them out if you are looking for a new family member, know of a dog that needs a home, or just love dogs and want to help.

Adopt a Golden Atlanta is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to finding warm, loving permanent homes for Golden Retrievers in order to prevent them from becoming strays or adding to the shelter overpopulation.

Insert adorable dog video here to pull at the heartstrings:

We hope you had fun working on your Buns N’ Guns this morning. Let us know how you’re doing by clicking the “Comments” link above!

Seeing is Believing

For the record, you all may SEE better in the park and in the dark, but you LOOK fabulous anywhere and in any lighting situation!

This February crew brought the vision and focus to help us raise another $2,000, benefitting Piedmont Park Conservancy and Adopt a Golden Atlanta. That’s an all-time total of $24,000!

I see much better

Keep believing…
See you Tuesday, March 1st!

Stay strong,
BC4C

Spotlight on Our Partner: Adopt a Golden Atlanta

Editor’s note: Thanks to the hearty crew that joined us on the icy tundra this morning (formerly known as the Noguchi Playground). Andrew led our group of 11 in a frozen version of Twelve, but somehow 12 became 20… Stay tuned for photos to be posted later today!

Adopt a Golden Atlanta is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to finding warm, loving permanent homes for Golden Retrievers in order to prevent them from becoming strays or adding to the shelter overpopulation.

Golden Retrievers, regardless of medical needs or age, will receive comprehensive evaluation, spay/neutering services, veterinary care, behavioral training if required, and safe passage into a permanent loving home. In addition to providing those services, Adopt a Golden Atlanta is intent on educating and assisting the metropolitan Atlanta general public, and dog owners specifically, regarding issues such as responsible pet ownership, spay/neutering, obedience training, and veterinary/specialists referrals.

AGA Mission

BC4Cers don’t just talk the talk — they also walk the walk! AGA Atlanta is lucky enough to have the support and services of four of our most committed participants: Hallie and Patrick Dillon and Nicole and Jonathan Cone. Hallie and Nicole are both volunteer Adoption Coordinators. They are responsible for finding loving homes for these adorable goldens. Way to go, ladies!

And The Results Are In…

Thank you to all that participated in our poll to decide next year’s charity partners.

In 2011, BC4C will continue to support the Piedmont Park Conservancy with 50% of our proceeds. Additionally, we will support each of the following causes for one quarter (three months) with the remaining 50% of our proceeds.

And the winners are… drumroll please…

  1. Adopt a Golden Atlanta — with 35.5% of the vote (639 votes)
  2. PATH Foundation — with 27% of the vote (486 votes)
  3. Kate’s Club — with 18.72% of the vote (337 votes)
  4. Get Grounded Foundation — with 10.67% of the vote (192 votes)

Thank you to the 1,800 people that visited our site to vote! We look forward to seeing each of you in the park next year!
