Pushing Past Your Comfort Zone
From Do Something Cool
The only thing stopping you from reaching your goals and dreams are your limits. It’s when you meet your limits that you feel resistance and things you want seem harder to achieve. Whether it is fear, doubt, physical abilities or some other mental block, it can present a huge barrier to getting what you want.
A few ways to push past your Comfort Zone in your next workout:
Find someone to help push you
Just that little bit of support encouraging you to keep going in the face of resistance can mean so much. Having someone on your side can counter-balance any negative thinking you might have.
Take on a little more than you think you can
Pushing past your limits means taking on newer, progressively harder challenges. If you’re not challenging yourself to do bigger and better things on a regular basis, you’re only working within the confines of what you already can do. That’s a sure-fire way to stay exactly where you are and make little to no progress.
Look at how others reached where you want to go
Whatever your goals are, there are probably others who have had them and succeeded in reaching them. Look to them for clues on what they did to push past their limits on their way to success. You’ll probably find a lot of great information from examining the path they took.

perfect article for today’s workout! group 3 pushed each and every sprint today–made me so proud! way to raise the roof!

refreshing! i’m not a big fan of artificial sweeteners, but use diet ginger ale to keep calories/sugar down.
see everyone tomorrow!
A$$ kicking was what Group 2 was doing today. You guys were fast followed up by a little bit faster.
That is a tough workout but everyone stayed at a good pace the entire time. My garmin had us up to 13 mph at our fastest.
And those types of sprints keep everyone honest — which is not what I can say about Jonathan and Jeff who tried to 1) take a break at the halfway point of the sprints and 2) tried to stop after 9 rounds. What is this world coming to.
See everyone tomorrow.
Slander! I fully admitted I had no idea if it was 9 or 10 and was relying on my teammate’s honesty. I mean if I could count to 10 reliably, I wouldn’t have gone to law school.
That said, Jonathan told me tomorrow is Wednesday, so looking forward to the day off.…
What an impressive start to the week!
I agree that the post is perfect for today. We all need to push our boundaries to achieve change.
Great blog for today!
Excellent job this morning Team #2!! Loved Squash Practice. Way to push hard and kick off the week. Thanks to Mary for being a great teammate on the suicides!
See tomorrow bright and early!
Yeah, great workout today! Thanks Andrew for pushing team 1 beyond our “comfort zone.” And thanks Gerald for being a good teammate by graciously completing the suicides when I faltered in the, lets just say, “closing round!”
Have you been to the active oval:
