You’re Tough Enough!

So far we have 3 — maybe 4 — people committed to the BC4C Tough Mudder team. Come on, tough guys (and gals)! We’re all tough enough for anything. And, just to assuage any fears, the point of the race is to get through it as a team, with everyone helping everyone else. This is not a speed race… it’s a “let’s all get through this together” race. So, now, who else is in?
Join the BC4C team during the registration:
Team name: BC4C
Password: bewelldogood
We’re currently scheduled for Sunday at 11:20, but we could switch to Saturday if we get some more Mudders and the majority rules.

There’s also some BC4C interest in the Spartan race. Check it out and let’s see if we can get a BC4C Spartan team together!

And, of course, we have a BC4C team forming for the Publix Georgia Marathon/Half. The team name is Boot Camp 4a Cause. You do not need a password to join.

Super speedies, we covered 4.18 miles today, not counting front to backs. Great job on conquering the hills I threw at you.
I mentioned it in my comment on Friday’s blog, but we do have a BC4C team for the Publix Marathon/Half. Team name is Boot Camp 4a Cause, no password to join, so look for it if you still haven’t signed up.
Thanks for the reminder, Leigh. I added it to the post.
Speedies you ran 3.5 miles after the warmup, that does not include any of the front to backs which so many of you did so it might have been close to 4 for some of you.
Pretty amazing!
I always enjoy run days — thanks to all the trainers for all the thankless work you do to make this such a great experience for the rest of us.
thx for the fast run this morning leigh, robin, brandon, mary, and booties!
i signed up for the half! the first one in a bunch of years so i’m excited! as far as the training schedule that ME posted on the bc4c running FB page, should we be trying to squeeze in the speed work and tempo running on our own, or is bootcamp going to be enough during the week?
I’m second guessing my pledge to join in on the Tough Mudder after reading the course description! I’m not so excited to run through live wires!! WHO DOES THAT? The rest of the course sounds like a breeze.… IF IT WAS IN JULY!!
Thanks for the tough course today Leigh, it was a great run and the super speedies are so strong, it’s a great feeling to just keep up with them!!
I too am confused about the schedule for our running program!
Yes great job today super speedies, way to hang in there Wendy and nice to see you back today Robin!!! we have missed your perky personalty and encouragement.
I will talk to R about me doing the Tough Mudder but if the baby is born on that day I will need a new place to live, anybody have a spare bedroom or dog house??
Hi everyone. With the running schedule, I think we’re going to do the tempo runs on Wednesday mornings (b/c we’re usually not bootcamping). The sprints you can do on your own as you see fit. If you’re doing bootcamp, you don’t really need to do them, but if you want that little extra speedwork, you can add it to the mix.
Make sense?
M.E.
Just my two cents on top of M.E.‘s: The full training schedule is meant to help achieve a goal time. If you aren’t out to reach a time specific goal, you can pick and choose a little with the mid week runs. Boot camp will play a large role in your overall fitness, so I wouldn’t worry too much about getting in both runs every week. I would try to get at least one run in each week on top of the long run.
This program is designed to combine running 3 days a week with cross training, which boot camp should be considered. Most of our workouts tend to include running in some form or fashion. My advice is to take advantage of that as much as you can. Pushing yourself a little harder at camp will pay pretty big dividends.
