The New Food Pyramid
Last year, GOOD asked designers to create a new illustrated food guide that presents nutritional guidelines in a clear, simple, easy-to-understand graphic.
Here is one of my favorite submissions (click to enlarge):

You can view all submissions and see the winner on the GOOD web site. Enjoy!

I was looking forward to working out in a winter wonderland, but it was not be. Sigh. We still had a great start to December, and I really liked the revised PT.
Who is aiming for perfect attendance this month?
I sorta feel bad for yelling at Kathleen this morning during the run (I told her to shut up, I know, not very nice) because she was complaining about it not snowing. But I don’t feel bad enough because I am glad it didn’t snow
And my super scientific experiment this morning with the Little Hotties bombed. According to my study, Little Hotties take two hours to get to their full ripe and hot temperature, and they are very toasty warm three hours after opened. And I am talking about my handwarmers NOT what all you dirty minds out there were thinking.
I will go ahead and call out some people who said they would have perfect attendance (as long as they were in town…) and that would be the lil Devil, Daniel and Dennis. I will also shoot for perfect attendance until I head over to Africa in the middle of the month.
And I am a little creeped out by that picture. Seriously? Heart eyes? A brown belly? Yucko.
I am shooting for perfect attendance too! I liked the new PT test. And, I like that we resurrected row boats and mixed up the push-ups. I expect an awesome month. Thank you in advance, trainers! Keep it coming.
I loved the revised PT Test. I loved being in the active oval for the PT test. I loved the lights on then gazebo (I guess those are for the benefit of those paying for the horse and carriage ride?) .. and ditto Jeff’s comment about thank instructor’s in advance. I did not love that the weather prediction when I went to sleep last night was 8 degrees colder that what actually was .. coulda been in shorts!
Guess that’s my fault for not checking again in the morning.
I have to go drink lots of water now and report that activity to HC Command Central (aka .. Tracy).
It was great being back out there this morning, after our extended break. It was a tid bit nipply out, but you wouldn’t have known it by watching everyone.
I’m ready for a great December.
New PT test? Dammit! I was so looking forward to this morning, had my workout clothes all layed out and everything! It’s been a week since my last BC after screwing up last Tuesday, and what do I do? Alarm goes off, I close my eyes for one second, and fall back asleep. No chance I’m missing tomorrow. I’m going to bed at 9 p.m. to make sure I’m well rested and paying this little cold I have no attention (outside of gargling with salt water and drinking ginger tea tonight). See you all then!
I was right there with you Kathleen, wishing for a flurry or two! Nice work trainers on mixing up the PT, loved it and thanks for thinking of us old vets!
For reference for the end of the month, the PT for this month is:
On the Active Oval
– Run 1 full lap
– 40 squats
– 30 rowboats
– 20 push-ups (decline or incline on the benches)
– 10 wall jumps
– Run 1 full (super speedies) or 1 half lap (speedies)
And, Tracy, the heart eyes are to indicate the healthy person’s love for good food. And the brown belly is supposed to be yucko… just like that guy feels after eating the yucko food he *thinks* he likes to eat.
did you submit that Lauren?
I wish I could take credit for it Kate, but it was created by Yumi Assai. I’d love to see your version of the food pyramid. No doubt it’d be a nice design and easy to read!
