Spotlight on the Camper: Lynn Bollins
Lynn Bollins is a mover, shaker, winer and diner by day (and night) and she turns up the heat each morning at BC4C.
Lynn was born and raised in Stow, OH. She moved to Atlanta one week after she graduated from college for the fun of it and has been here ever since (going on nine years).
Lynn majored in Interior Architecture and started her career as a commercial interior designer. She quickly realized that she couldn’t sit still long enough to get anything done and moved into sales. Now she sells commercial office furniture to architects and designers.
Lynn became involved in BC4C after a client suckered her into signing up. The client only did it for one month with her and then never came back. That was 7 months ago and Lynn has become hooked on BC4C. However, she still hasn’t gotten any business from that client!
Lynn’s initial goals for joining boot camp were to find balance with her health and fitness. She was wining and dining a lot for her job and it was really taking a toll on her body. It was really hard for her to exercise in the evenings because she always had events for work. BC4C has been a great way to be held accountable for getting up and getting it done.
Lynn’s biggest diet challenge is finding healthy food choices at work events. During these outings, her meals are a lot of times substituted with alcohol and appetizers. She also takes clients to dinner a bunch. Lynn is still learning how to make better choices when ordering out at a restaurant.
Lynn’s biggest fitness accomplishment is making it past day one of camp. She was really discouraged the first day that she couldn’t make it the full lap on the run. She has sure come a long was since then!
LYNN’S FUN FACTS
Favorite exercise: Sit-ups!
Favorite workout: Kathleen’s yoga workout. This is the only day that she can get out of bed knowing that she is not going to be tortured!
Advice for new boot campers: Make it through two weeks and after that, believe it or not, it will become somewhat fun!
The best thing a Trainer has done for Lynn: Lynn loves how all of the trainers will see when she is struggling and they buddy up with her to push her and keep her motivated. That alone has gotten her through several workouts and runs!
Did you know? Lynn is daughter of an ex-nun. Lynn also loves to go camping! She doesn’t get to do it as often as she would like as apparently a lot of her friends prefer hotels over tents. She loves being outdoors in general.

Hey Lynn! Nice to see you on the blog… because we sure didn’t get to see you in the park this morning!
SHOUT-OUT to Cha-Cha for putting the death grip on that workout. I had your back, but you didn’t need me… you handled that one just fine on your own. Way to push it all the way to the end, even past the final bell. That’s the way to get faster, faster!
Remember to stretch and drink your 64 oz of water today.
ALSO: Brandon, Marcia, I and a few others are planning to jump out of a plane soon. If you would like to join us and like coupons, check out this deal:

Lynn is a super-fun, great person and workout partner. She hung tough through the winter months, and I think she is a riot and half.
Great workout this morning — I can’t believe how sweaty it is already! I may not survive the summer — I felt horrible this morning. I think I need to drink 128 oz. of water.
I am IN for the skydive and just bought 2 vouchers. My wife is in too IF we can schedule the dive between May 29th and June 4th, maybe? Maybe Sunday or Monday of Memorial Day weekend? Or, a day of hooky on Friday June 3rd? I’ll go whenever if those don’t work.
Attempted suicide is one of my favorite workouts!! Thanks Susan. A shout out to Judy who drove from Jonesbro this morning and did the workout in her non– workout shoes.
That’s the BC4C spirit:)
missed you today, lynn! you are such a fun face to see in the mornings…and you always find a way to make me laugh!
wow! wow! wow! what a sprint at the end, marcia!!!
happy belated bday, rama!
Yeah for Lynn! I love the fact that she actually gave her cell phone number to Andy so he will call her and tell her to wake up. I personally would never give my cell phone number to Andy, but whatever works for you…
It was really fun working out with Christie, Judy and Bridget this morning. All were pushing themselves to the limit! Bridget tackled those wall jumps with a little bit of trepidation but didn’t fall on her face once (at least that I saw). Christie did all her push-ups on her toes, with full extension (to the ground!) every time. So note to trainers…no more facilitated push-ups for that girl. Plus, we want her to keep beating her boyfriend in their competitive sprints to their car, so don’t go easy on her anymore. And Judy didn’t skimp at all on her step-ups, she finished every single damn one of those without stopping. Way to go ladies!
For all you overachievers out there, Leigh and I will be organizing a group run this Saturday morning at 7:30 at the same spot we meet for bootcamp. We will begin warming up at 7:30 and start the run ~10 minutes later. There will be two groups running, a short(er) run group and a long(er) run group, but we won’t tell you the route or distance till we get out there. This is a great way to get in an extra workout on the weekend and work on your running form. All ability levels and friends are welcome to come out and join in the fun.
Lynn — you are a trooper! But I agree with Tracy; giving Andy your cell phone number may backfire!
FYI — For all Warrior Dashers .… I was looking at some info. on the website, and there is a waiver/release form that you can print out and fill out in advance. They’ll be available on race day, but they say this will definitely help speed up the registration process.

Now. Now. Now. Just because I accidentally dialed the wrong number and woke some poor guy up at 5:15a doesn’t mean I can not be trusted. At first, I just assumed Lynn was hooking up and that we wouldn’t be seeing her at boot camp that day.
Much to Lynn’s dismay she was at boot camp. And we should be very proud of her since she now makes it to boot camp all by herself — well at least until she didn’t make it this morning.
All kidding aside, Lynn has overcome her love/hate relationship with boot camp and has really started to kick it into gear.
Awesome workout this morning. It was sweaty, but fun. Everyone really kicked a$$.
Looking for more fun tomorrow. Also, look back here and on our FB page for a core workout that you can do at home should you have to miss a day of boot camp.
Lynn is one of my favorites. I agree with Andy that she has overcome her more negative feelings towards boot camp (Stockholm Syndrome?). I am so glad that she is part of our BC4C family.
Does anyone have directions to the Warrior Dash? Mapquest was not cooperating when I tried it.
Great job today!
Everyone kicked a$$ this morning! Great job on a humidity filled Monday morning with a workout called “Suicidal Tendencies”!!! Yikes!!
Love the profile on Lynn! Where were you this morning??
Lynn is always a blast, hard working and fun! Like Kathleen said, we are happy you are part of the BC4C family.
Shazia — email me at susankelley27@comcast.net, I have an answer to your question!
See everyone in the am!
Dang! Can we say SWEET SWEAT!! ?? That was the perfect workout after a girls weekend and Mother’s Day treats! Not sure which was harder … the workout or the general harassment!? Kudo’s to Rick for really pushing it hard Friday and today! He was kicking arse out there. So fun to be back at BC these past couple months (despite the harassment
)
Great profile on Lynn! She always seem so energetic each morning.
Today’s workout was tough but everyone seemed to be giving it their all and encouraging each other.
Yay Lynn! It’s been great running and working out with you lately, but if you keep going at your current pace, I’m not going to be able to catch up any longer. You missed a tough workout today, for sure!
My run group route:
2.72 miles without front to backs.
Climb of 207 total feet

Check out that elevation map!
Nice job ATTACKing those hills. Next time you see one, you know you’ll own it.
Way to stay relaxed, shoulders down, loose arms and quiet feet.
And last but not least, keepin’ your heads up!
Yay you and yay week 2!
Of course Lynn is dedicated, fun, and energetic.…she inherited it from her “ex nun” mom. Thanks, Andy, for taking over my job of calling her every morning to make sure she was up for boot camp!! Keep it going, Lynn! Love, MOM
